12/18/08:Hit the Bat-signal!

So I don't know if you knew this, but tonite there is a special Blu-Ray live viewing/chat? of "The Dark Knight" with director Christopher Nolan and we are gonna watch/chat. This BD-live event is limited to the first 100,000 who registered on Warners BD-live site so other than that I don't know how this will work: is it picture in a picture, audio commentary, is He gonna come over and watch it with us, I don't know but we will see. We have already submitted three questions:

1. If there was originally scenes in the narrows/ Arkham Asylum and if Dr.Harleen Quinzel was there.
2. We saw concept ideas for "The Joker" but was there other concept ideas for Batman and Two-Face?
3. I don't remember the third one something about shooting the next film totally in Imax

The viewing starts at 6 p.m. Pacific time (9 p.m. Eastern) so we will let you know how this goes. If the movie was not as good as it is I think most people would be batsick by now, some might be already (I have already seen it 3 times in Imax, now on Blu-Ray and already ordered all "The Dark Knight" 1/6 scale figures, bought boxes of cereal to get toys from the movie, I listen to the soundtrack on a regular basis and it has literally become my favorite movie, ever and it comes out again in Imax in January). But with all this over exposure with modern media I think we are ready for a little (tiny) tidbit on the next project. I know how director Chris Nolan likes to "keep things close to the chest" which is great, and honestly I don't want a big "hey this is the next villin" and I don't think this will happen but if it does, I want to be there.

12/12/08: Final Fantasy XIII

12/3/08: The middle ground

                   The screen can tilt up in landscape position and vertical position for normal phone use.

Nokia has announced the soon to be released Nokia N97 touch screen/ slider and think I'm gonna start saving up for it. This thing will have 32 gigs of internal memory (expandable to 48 gb), a 5 mp camera, wifi, bluetooth, gps, accelarometer, compass but best of all...it does not run on windows mobile. When the Sony Ericsson Experia 1 was announced i was so excited then I found out it ran the same lame windows platforms that boring "business" phones use. This was Sony Ericsson's way of taping into the "serious"phone market, but seriously, someone who is buying a phone for its business aspects doe not care about "panels" (the n97 has a form of panels too). Hate to say it but look at the iphone, people love it, it can be fun and still get the job done. I think even SE knows this because they announced right before the release of the X1 that they might not use windows mobile for future Experia series phones, hopefully they upgrade the memory and camera too (the x1 only has 512 internal memory and a 3 mp camera, funny when SE plans to release a 12 mp camera phone next year). I love sony Ericsson, I hate Apple (not really), so this phone should be a perfect fit of organization, functionality and fun.

UPDATE: I heard a rumor it could be priced about $700 without a contract which is the average price of a unlocked super phone.

12/3/08: No PSPhone

          Combine the MyLo                             a SE camera phone                     and a PSP and bam!!!

No, there is no news but I just remembered how I wanted to state my opinion, because it matters, right? right? RIGHT! So it's no secret that I am a Playstation fanboy, and a matter of fact a Sony fanboy because of they are always inovating, creating new products that may never take off but these ideas must be tested. Examples:mini disc players (love and miss them), sacd, beta, soon blu-spec cd (subject for a later time)...So why has Sony not developed a Playstation phone,they could use the shape of the Sony MyLO 2 (which borrows from the PSP), add a XMB, beefed up camera (3.2-24MP whatever), bluetooth, some Ps buttons (x,o,...) cool black/silver/green deco and lights (PSP=Yellow, PS2=blue, PS3=red, green would complete the playstation logo colors)and Sell the phone from Sony Style at a premium price (I will sign a check and you can enter any dollar amount). They should not make it too high end or go all the way (I didn't mind paying $500 for my PS3 that does everything, but some did so that could be a problem).The iphone was $600 so maybe somewhere under that would be satisfactory, right? Sony products always have a slow start but usually sustain, people need phones, people play games, people have other Playstation products so if those products could intertwine i.e. Sony Home or Little Big Planet connected to PS phone, transfering photos/messages. Not only that, have the phone connect to other social networks that the MyLO 2 already connects to plus features like:

-Google talk
-Yahoo messenger
-Skype
-RSS Feeds
-Flash video compatibility
-Music and video functionality
-802.11 b/g wi-fi
-1.3 MP Camera
-3.5-inch, 16:9 touchscreen

This is my argument/secret plee to sony- Make a Playstation branded phone. not to beat a dead horse but Apple used the same type of interface for the iphone and ipod touch and that worked great, so its time to up-it-up Sony, release it and they (I) will buy it,

11/8/08: What did I miss...

Last week The Cure finally released their 13th studio album after releasing a single on the 13th of every month since may. Some of the songs were intended for earlier albums, and the few tracks I've heard, it sounds like the old happy (gothier?)fun time cure that we all know and love. Another album that was released this week was Eagles of Death Metal's Heart On. If you've never heard of them, It's Jesse "the Devil" Hughes and Carlos von Sexron (Josh Homme, lead of Queens of the Stone Age) playing quick songs over flowing with triple entendre of sex and greaser-style shenanigans. If your tired of the same old same old, this is a band to check out with steel slide guitars and uptempo snare drums (Homme plays drums). When the band released their first cd One could directly e-mail "the Devil", and I did, I told him he should "keep rockin'", and he actually responded like only he would(I saved the e-mail for proof)

Honestly, I did not get either one of these albums, yet; I've allocating funds on more priority areas, like 1/6 scale figures and early Christmas gifts. In fact I used to get about 60 new cd's a year, but lately, not too much has come out to get me excited, but next week I think I will be picking these both up (on amazon, used, on the cheap). And that brings me to this point, While I have been in a music drought, I have been listening to some older stuff. I don't just listen to song at random, I listen to albums at a time, some times one band for a whole month. So here is some obscure music meaning one cannot just go down to big-box-store #2 or small-exspensive-store #3 in the mall, you have to order them, most of the time. here are some artist that I enjoy being "croonery"? about.

VAST- Visual Audio Sensory Theater; created, played by everything by Jon Crosby (more recently there is an actual band). I remeber hearing the single "Pretty When You Cry" in the opening to a movie showing a car driving on a desert highway and thinking "Is this a rare Nine Inch Nails song?". No it was Vast, the first cd had a lot of, well chanting? like monks singing, but each album got better and better. But his latest "April" is a little slower but he says the next will be a "return to the electro-rock". Honestly thought, His albums are a great listen for driving down a dark road, but if you want to order I suggest Amazon.com and not the bands official store, Two-Blossoms (I preordered an album, never got it, never got a response, never got my money back). They are not too extreme in any direction so it's worth checking out no matter what you like to listen to.

Econoline Crush- I love nineties alternative, love it. If I had a time machine, I would go back and live a day in '97 and go to the malls, buy some doc martens.....anyways; again I heard the churning song on the local rock radio and loved it, but no one knew what it was called. All I knew was the lyrics "never enough", and now that I have a computer I can find any thing including Econoline Crush's 2nd album "The Devil You Know" featuring "Surefire (never enough)". They are a great band, from Canada?, that blend STP with industrialish crunching. Their other albums are pretty good if you like their Canadian-Platinum album and this is great if you want to drive faster and harder or time travel 11 years in the past.
Update: The band is back and had a cd released this year. AWESOME.

like The Ultimate Matrix Collection on Bluray, I'm gonna have a all day matrixthon, but according to the box there is over 35 hours of bonus content, a a all week matrixthon?
Also that TDK in Imax (relax its coming back in January). Whats been up with Starfire's John Depp (thats right I call him John because he is a grown man).Maybe I'll throw in a Weird-Music-To-Check-Out, If there is time, all this and more, much more or less.

Guess what? We were right. Hot Toys has released the official photos of their new addition to the 1/6 scale The Dark Knight collection. He comes with Aaron Eckhart and Two-Face head, along with regular jacket and extra crispy. Now you know I was waiting to pre-order this figure until I saw that/ those faces, and I did, what we need next is swat addition James Gordon, iff not I'll make one. Thats right, I totally have a new hobby in 1/6th scale figures, I just have so many figures I want to make from Neo (The Matrix) to Solid Snake (MGS1 Version) but I am currently working on one in particular, a certain boss, the biggest one.

Real quick, we just noticed this last night. In this great interview with the chief sculpter for Hot Toys figures Yulli Hotto done by ActionFigureHub.com (check 'em out) we not only get a great interview but there is a little secret in the photo. Yulli is working on The Dark Knight 1:6 scale figures and recently finished The Joker and Bank Robber Joker (remember we talked about this?). well remember this is a rumor, just an observation, but in a picture done by Action Figure Hub, over Yulli's right shoulder there is a figure of what looks like Jack Sparrow and a un painted figure in a very gubernatorial suit looking an awfully like...Harvey Dent which is the next Hot Toys Movie Masters Figure announced with only a teaser. 10/6/08: Where's the Revolution

                      This was the "Revolution"                                                And this is the revolution

I just want to vent about something. One Christmas I was given a choice, the sony Playstation (1) or the Nintendo 64 (ultra 64, like that?), and it was pretty simple, PS1, and looking back it changed my life. Nintendo is an amazing company but has never pushed themselves to be a high powered machine with amazing graphics and fun, they are just the fun part. In my opinion the best games on Nintendos systems are games made by Nintendo, its almost like they allow sub-par games to be released on their system which only makes their own games look better. When the Gamecube came out and the Shinji Mikami's Capcom Five was announced, I had such high hopes for the new edgier system,and Nintendo did what they always do, paced(stretched out) releases thinking you can play one game for over 6 months until the next hit comes out. By the time I got RE4, there were already talks of the game appearing on PS2, and other games that came out were a let down, like Mario sunshine (what was that). Here's an idea, create more games to release more often and stop milking the same 5 ips. Again, when "the Revolution was announced, I still got excited; then I saw the controller, ok, well maybe there is more to it; then it was officially named, the Wii, I knew I would grow to hate it in time. We got a Wii, we joined the hype, we paid a lot too, and we played Twilight Princess (didn't like it), we downloaded super mario brothers, and waited and waited and waited and waited for for Mario Galaxy (weird game). After that, we ended up selling this "rare" system and bought more games for the  consistent PS3.


       More add-ons costing more money, but they do give your arms a nice work out; that looks comfortable

For a system, which uses motion controls in the most awkward way, the response and accuracy is really wonky (trigger not used as a trigger?), not providing much control of a game in which the objective of the games is ...control, and if you don't believe me, why is Nintendo releasing the Wii MotionPlus, an official attachment to increase accuracy of the motion controller. The Wii zapper had hope, with RE:Umbrella Chronicles, but again, just not cutting it, and the Wii wheel...exactly.Look Nintendo makes really, really fun games which are different and need to be made, but soon they become very boring and predictable, kind of like a slinky or a paddle ball. I'm glad theres a systm my grandmother and my little cousin can play, together, but I needs me some 1080p, hdmi input, 5.1 surround sound, non-movment game playin' action. Maybe I'm just not ready for it, maybe I'm too lazy to flail around after 8 hours of work, maybe I need more. Don't worry though with every system there is that thin line between finding the system and games on the cheap in great condition and having to hunt down the system and pay exorbinant amount of money for a system and games with out of date graphics that is if you can even find them. I know that this is the "hard core gamer" in me but I don't think a system should go so out of their way to be everything to every one, make them come to you because of how cool the system is, but they are making a gagillion dollers on the Wii so, maybe they are right. Look, I cut my teeth on gaming with the NES, and I will be honest, when the Wii is like $100 bucks, get-in-my-car-go-to-the-store-get-it available, in another color other than than Apple sterile white, and have peak motion controls, I will totally rebuy a wii (the revolution still sounds cooler) have fun with it and hear about the next Nintendo system, and then the process will start all over again.

Update: Nintentdo announced this week the new DSi, 17% bigger screen, .3 megapixel camera (why bother), and sd memory card slot; but hey, where's the GBA slot, oh there is none. More with less.

9/18/08: Zune in

                                   Floating, waiting, Zune120 in new colors due later this year,maybe

I remember that I wanted a way to have a wide selection of music to listen to depending on my mood and not have to to carry around (in the car) a warehouse of cd's with me with the risk of getting into an accident while changing disc, pulling over to change the disc (I also have a disc changer), or having my rare and beautiful collection of disk be stolen or damaged or broken. So when the zune 80 was about to come out and the zune 30 went down to $150, I decided to "join the social" (what is that?). I'll be honest, I don't like iPods, I give them credit to making HDD digital music what it is, but I just don't like them. I don't like how Apple hardware/software is introduced/preceved as the hip alternative to the boring and mundane and tries everything it can to be the opposite (of Microsoft) even if it makes no sense or hinders performance, yet socially, everyone needs one. Example, macs don't have a right click button, or how the first iphone was $600 and is now $200 and did not include 3G or how the background of an iPod cannot be changed, it always that boring and sterile white, blue and silver motif, also, iHate the click wheel, oh and no radio. But I do love the way itunes is made for macs and iPods and they work so great together, hey even Starfire has one (we bought 80 gig, then like 2 weeks later, iPod classic came out). Seriously, Microsoft, Zunes don't work with Windows Media Player, what is that? Ok, they did this so the Zune would not look like a Microsoft/boring music player, fail, because most people already have pc's, it would make sense to be the official music player of Windows and have a choice between WMP or Zune.

Sometimes the farther you try to get away from who you are, the closer you become. Listen, I'm not saying one is better than the other, just that I like the zune better, and it comes without all the hype. When Zune release the 2nd generation Zune, a new updated was released and it was absolutely horrendous, I absolutely hated it, in fact I tried so hard not to use it, I even tried to downgrade it. You could not edit songs (properly), it was wonky, and there were too many other problems to list, not to mention the new zunes looked so stupid, and click wheel/trark pad-esq "Zune pad" (squicle). But now, that has changed, Microsoft probably stopped trying to be an iPod killer (they haven't, and won't) but now the Zune120 is out, looks betterish, comes in more colors (will not be better than the translucent glow of the Zune30, I might try to change my HDD in mine but I will just end up breaking it). More importantly, Zune software 3.0 is out and it works, not great but it works to the point where I can actually use it, maybe next year Zune 4.0 will come out and it will be "good"(and work with WMP).

9/18/08: Awesomeness now comes in a bar

Did you know there is a Reese's bar? Exactly! We saw this and without hesitation I grabbed it up. This is the tru way to get the reese's you love, with out all those cups. This would be perfect for the movies, the car, the office, the kitchen and the garage. The best part, it taste like the cups (looking at you Reese's whips) and is divided into little sections so there is even distabution of peanut butter and chocolate. You would expect to pay $200 for this bar, not so, not $100, not $50, not even $4.99, but around $1.79, WOW!

9/18/08: Figure It Out

So guess what? Were getting into a new hobby, kinda of a weird one too, but the awesomeness out weights the awkwardness, kinda...1/6th scale "action figures"! They are not dolls, but  "figures of action", with little boots (that actually lace up), and little hands, and little hearts, but they have big price tags. Remember a while back we told you about Hot Toys was releasing The Dark Knight "1/6th scale action figures", no?, of course you don't, you never listen to me. Any way, we went a little bananas and ordered 3 figures, The Joker, Batman (original costume), and The Joker (Bank Robber Version). But guess what, now Hot Toys has mentioned the inevitable, they will be releasing a Harvey Dent/ Two-Face figure later this year with only a mention in a teaser

So of course being the obsessive freak that I am, I have to get it, and the tumbler and the batpod, and TDK Version Batman... when does it end? Other manufacturers make a Joker and Batman, but really they look horrible. Honestly, look at DC Direct's Joker, its redonkulous especially coming from DC, representing America. I guess that is why they (DC Direct) will be distributing Hot Toys figures and props/tumblers/pods. So to try this whole 1/6th scale thing out, we bought a Hot Toys 1/6th scale Truetype Figure (Caucasian - Relaunch ver.) and little clothes for him in the theme of Chris Redfield (RE1). Honestly, its pretty sweet, but very expensive. Don't look down at me, I'm still the same person, just 1/6th scaled.

9/4/08: D-generate

                    Leon gettin' ready to blast....                                             ahh!!! a zombie, look out!!!

So I have been in a draught of good games to play, so I have been playing PS2 games, even a PS1 game, Resident evil 3: Nemesis; yay I've been bored. But while we wait for RE5, which I think will be the next guranteed great game, ok Fall Out 3 looks real good, and Lego Batman looks fun, but beside the point, there is a full lenght cg movie Resident Evil: Degeneration which will take place between RE4 and RE5 (getting us ready for RE5 Huh) and it will be on bluray and look absolutely amazing, 1080p, 5.1 surround sound, lasers,  hyper definition, blah blah blah....

But really I look forward to this, word is the original voice actors are to reprise their roles, and this story will take place in an airport, and seeing how Leon and Claire are back I'm sure Wesker will be poping up, maybe Ada, maybe a police station will be involved, who knows. I never liked Final Fantasy, at all, but man, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children looked awesome, so We checked it out, and I had no idea what this was and shut it off 20 minutes into it, but anyways, I don't think this will happen with RE:D because its simple, see zomies, kill them, escape on a helicopter,train, jetski whatever you can grab, maybe a segway or something.

8/26/08:  Strap on, Type off

This year at Leipzig Games Convention Sony announced a few things we already know/have, like
1. PSP 3000- with built in microphone, new screen and "home" button
2. 80 gig PS3 (for Europe) still no backwards compatibility
3. 160 gig PS3 (for Europe) including 70 euros credit for downloads.
4. official wireless keyboard attachment for Dual Shock 3
Well the new PSP? I like my PSP-1000 (fatboy,same for my ps1/PS2) thank you very much; I don't like how the new PSP's UMD latch is all loosy-goosy, and it just seems cheaper quality than the first generation. As for the larger hard drives, seriously almost any laptop hard drive can upgrade the Playstation 3's hardrive on the cheap to like 300 gig's, or you could add an external harddrive, like a terabyte worth, so you could download your brain/memories and still have room for 5 gigs of Devil May Cry 4.

    Madcatz-attempt to add 50 lbs.      Nyko-hey it's a keyboard with a DS2.            XB360-Perfection.

 Really, Sony should release on system with 80 gigs, Dual Shock 3 and no backwards compatibility, and another "pro" version with more gigs , DS3, and backwards compatibility, or here's an idea, keep it how you had it to begin with; $499 and $599, but I want backward Compatibility just in case my 60 gig breaks down. Anyways,I am looking forward to the wireless keyboard, it looks like it will attach quite nice, not as nice as the "messenger kit" for the 360 but its way cooler than slapping a keyboard on top of a dual shock, kind of like the Madcatz keyboard that came out during launch. The device can be used with any bluetooth device and the main key area can become a touch pad, seriously I can't wait to type people on MGO and let them know, they're not Snake.

8/21/08: The Jokes on You

             What I look like in the morning, seriously!                                        ART!
Some pictures from "The Dark Knight: Art book, Featuring Production Art and Full Shooting Script" were scanned and put online like two weeks ago, some of which were concept photos of The Joker, which actually look a little scarier then the current form, but I like the new look, very street, very spontaneous .These picture let you see that a lot of thought went into the Joker, a young, scarred (internal) man with chaos on his mind, yet with every picture, it still seems like he is smiling.

Some of these concepts look a little too organized a villain, not the polar opposite of a precise Batman. I like the spikey hair that looks like the slicked back Ceasar Romero look. It's nice to think what could have been lookingthrough concept drawings/pictures, I would like to see concepts of the Bat-Pod or of Two-Face. So check this book out, go beyond dvd extras menu. I've been looking at my local Barnes and Nobles with no avail, so I might have to order it online, and miss out on using my B&N discount card, shame, shame.  And please, if you are constantly quoting lines that the Joker says in the movie, like "i LiKe YoU, i LiKe YoU a LoT", please stop, NOW!

8/20/08: Memory Changer

I remebered the other day(a month ago) that in a Playstation unofficial magazine(now has become the official magazine) that Sony had been developing a bipedeal robot and
something about how it could change your PS2 memory cards and walk you AIBO. AIBO,
remember, the Sony artificial dog, that you could play with, waste your money on? Well,
from time to time I remeber old devices that I saw as "cutting edge" when I was younger
and now that I can afford them, more likely they didn't succeed and are dirt cheap, not
that SDR-3X is cheap/available. You probably knew about this already but I just thought
it would be interesting to see if the robot had been upgraded to change my playstation 3
hard drive and take my girlfriend out on dates. multiple SDR-4X's can be seen  dancing in unison in Beck's video for "Hell Yes".

8/20/08: Raider of My Heart

So I finally saw the newest "TombRaider:Underworld" trailer (Croft manor exploding, sexy Lara in the rain, oh yeahhhhhh) and well it looks awesome, not just graphics wise but metaphorically. Its the start of a new TombRaider era, that's right ERA. I've been playing TombRaider from the beginning and I loved it, the game play, the story, the graphics (at the time) and, mmmm, well her pistols, yay. But the more popular the games become the faster they started pumping them out, almost every year, and thus the quality deteriorated with each one. Then the developers decided to revamp the series with "TombRaider: Angel of Darkness", I was even talked into pre-ordering so I could get a dvd of "making the game", and I paid $50 bucks for this garbage. I never finished it, in fact I never played more than 20 minutes because I hated it sooo much. The funny thing is I remember the game was to be the first of a trilogy, obviously I see why they never came out (they were being developed at the same time TR:AoD was). When Crystal Dynamics took over the games were actually good again, but a little too much change, back up, awkward grappling hook, brown shirts? But they refined the series with "Anniversary", and even thought it is a remake, hopefully a little taste of whats to come . Anyways, in the new trailer, the destruction of Croft manor, I'm guessing means there's nothing to go back to, maybe there's no back up, maybe there's no more butler, more importantly maybe all "she" has worked for, all of her trophies (T-rex head included, oh you didn't know about that, she has one with all the rest of the artifacts from other games and then some) are all gone so now it is time for a fresh start, with nothing to compare it too , oh and her bathing suit under the shorts is back, but leather, tight, and awesome. The best thing is it will be out in less than 3 months just in time for Christmas,you'll be fightin' Krakens in between the releases of Lego Batman and Resident Evil 5.

8/16/08: More Harry Potter News:

It seems as if The Dark Knight has pushed back Harry Potter until July of next year. I don't think Batman did it on purpose, but Warner Bros. thinks their new plan to be a good idea. First off, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been pushed back until July 17, 2009, instead of November 21 of this year. WB says its because they didn't have any summer movies planned for 2009, so HP would be a good idea to fill in the spot. Seeing how the movie is almost out of post-production, I guess its going to be collecting dust for the next six months. WB also said that now that Fall/Winter is open for them, they will put TDK back in theaters before its DVD release in December. Here is my interpretation of how this decision came about:

CEO/Big Wig of WB: **grumble**money**money**grumble**
Intern: Um, sir... I was looking at the schedule for next year, and somehow "someone" forgot to plan a summer blockbuster for 2009....
CEO/BW: WHAT?! Who ever did that is FIRED! What are we going to do? Think of something fast or... or... or else YOUR fired!
Intern: **wink** I already did sir. How about we push Harry Potter back and make that the summer blockbuster. This will prevent us from coming up with any fresh movies, plus since it's a family film, it will bring in more money for us than it would in the fall.
CEO/BW: Great idea Jones!
Intern: It's Johns, sir...
CEO/BW: But what about Fall? What movie can we make money off of then?
Intern: Batman! We can put it back in the theaters before it's released on DVD. Plus, since its around the holidays, people can drag their family members who live under a rock and haven't seen it yet to the theaters and make the company more money! Plus, that way, TDK might be able to slowly suck enough money out of people to sink Titanic!
CEO/BW: That's it Jones! Your promoted! No one has thought of such a great idea to make me... uh*ahem*... I mean our company so much money by doing so little work!

8/04/08: Harry Potter: Half-Blood Prince

Yeah, well I am a few days late. Let me just say I am super excited, but also super nervous. This is when the *you know what* starts to hit the fan. How are they going to portray Snape? Are they going to start giving hints about his true nature. I hope not, I hope they make him look like a jerk the whole time (btw, he is my favorite character.... from Book One until now). I can't even think about it too much. I just need to re-read the book to keep myself current.

8/03/08: Finally! The Matrix is Blu!

The Ultimate Matrix Collection Blu-ray, has an official release date of October 14, 2021, no seriously it’s this year. You don't know how many times I almost gave in and forked over a million dollars for the Limited Edition of the Ultimate Matrix Collection with resin bust of Neo and 80 page booklet, and then 120 bucks when it came out again on HD-DVD. Yes, we own an HD-DVD player, and now we use it to watch normal DVDs, because:

1. It still up-converts normal DVDs
2. I couldn't return it because I bought it way early
3. Can't sell it because it’s worth like nothing
4. I don't want to wear out my PS3 or my Blu-ray player

And yes we have a separate Blu-ray player, that’s just how we roll, yo? Anyways, the set is supposed to be like The Ultimate Matrix Collection HD-DVD, but the picture show less discs (from 7 to 5), some kind of art book, The Animatrix in 1080p, and 35 hours of "awesome extras". The list price is $129.95, but of course Amazon has it for $90.95, so for less than $103.00 you get the movies with 2 day delivery, not a bad deal at all. I tell you, I have not seen Reloaded and Revolutions since it was in the theaters, and the Matrix and the Animatrix for a long time, so when I get them, I will spend like 3 days "Matrixing it up" with all 3 movies and 35 hours of "awesome extras", hopefully not including Larry W.’s transformation. Whaaa?

8/03/08: Batman 3 Super Villain Trio?

Well it seems that Julie Newmar thinks that Angelina Jolie would make a great Catwoman for the Chris Nolan series of Batman movies. Well that’s great and all but I don't see how a "cat" burglar would play out when the villains in this series are bringing total destruction to Gotham. Yes, a new love interest would be nice, but seriously Angelina Jolie would be great (maybe if she ate a few sandwiches), but only if she didn't try too hard to be mysterious/weird/awkward. Another super speculated rumor is something about Johnny Depp being "approached" to play the Riddler and "studio heads" want Phillip Seymour Hoffman to play the penguin. Ok, seriously the Dark Knight just came out, how are they picking villains for a role in a movie that is not written yet? If you know Chris Nolan, which I don't, you would realize that the reason this franchise is so successful but actually good is that he is very discretionary with what he does for his films and keeps the films "close to the chest" (you like that?) writing with his brother Jonathan Nolan and his wife producing his movies. He has already said he makes the movies when he makes them. Personally I enjoy seeing classic Batman villains/characters in this more gritty Gotham, like how the ScareCrow was a "psycho-pharmacologist" who somehow ended up wearing a mask and not just a scarecrow running around scaring people. There does not have to be two villains, a climatic final battle, and all the villains don’t have to die.

8/03/08: Unlocked?

Maybe you knew this already, but last night we visited a local Best Buy in search of a
grey Sony Ericsson w580 for AT&T but when we got there, we found out the grey flavor was only available at Best Buy as an unlocked phone. Whaaa? While there, we discovered they sell unlocked phones like the Nokia n95, yeah, for like one million dollars, but if I really wanted to get an awesome, unlocked phone right now I could go to any 6 of my local Best Buys and pick one up, after avoiding the unknowledgeable employee who tries to sell me "the new LG", cause "it's got a touch screen". Well , I already ordered a Sony Ericsson k850i Quicksilver edition, so it should be here today, but it's shipping via FedEx, and last time they delivered something, the FedEx guy just left our package at the door, but when we got home, it was gone, and the time before that he didn't even come to the "penthouse", he just left it at the apartment office with no note, so I don't know what these people do with our packages, but hopefully I will actually get it, and soon review it.

7/28/08: No Network Coverage

Don't get me wrong, I love America, but our cellphone providers, well suck pushing the phones they want you to buy and the plans that are not much of a great deal at all. For example, why are there so many "business" phones on the high end and then so many cheapies but nothing really in between. Also plans in America are 2 year contract, yeah I know there are one year contracts with little or no phone discount, and pay-as-you-go with no phone discounts, but seriously, their a rip off. Last year I finally left my cdma phone provider (no sim card like Sprint, Verizon, and MetroPCS to name a few)and signed up with Cingular (gsm) and I loved having a sim, being able to switch phones when ever I want. I started ordering awesome phones from Europe, paying like $300 for a phone that was branded but unlocked phone from O2. Wait, what? Exactly. OTHER COUNTRIES GET AWESOME PHONES FOR FREE WITH A YEAR AND A HALF CONTRACT! We're talkin' Sony Ericsson K850i with a 5 megapixel Cybershot (we almost got it here but AT&T dropped it), all the Blackberrys that we pay $300 for here, Nokia N95 8gb with 5 mega pixel camera and music player. Even the pre-pay phones are way cheap and have amazing quality, or are the same as the contract phones. So why is it the best phone we get for free (some after mail in rebate) has a VGA camera (like half a mega pixel, most phones in Europe have that for their secondary camera, for video chat, whaaaaa?) and/or is refurbished.


I would like to think people do care about the quality of their cellphones so whats the deal with all these crappy phones, that we have to sign a 2 year contract, mail in a $150 rebate, and have to pay more to upgrade later.They are an investment, its a "gadget" you use everyday from the very mundane phone call or a text message, to checking e-mail and taking pictures. Ok I really don't care for the iphone, there I said it, its my opinion, but I can see it's appeal and I think it is a big step in the right direction (small step because it is still $199).I also give credit to the "sidekick" for being more of a social phone, in between business and freebie. Recently the phone I reviewed (sony ericsson k810i) stopped getting a signal and sony ericsson said I could send it in, but the seller I purchased it from, on ebay, was not a registered seller with sony ericsson, so I can send it in for $100 dollars, which is about 1/3 the price of the phone, so I ordered a new internal antenna/ aerial to fix it my self. But just in case it doesn't work, I might be ordering a new sony ericsson, not from ebay but a U.S. seller. I'll let you know how that turns out, with a review of course. But seriously, make sure the seller is shipping from the U.S. and not "America, China" (nothing against China but it will take weeks to arrive and if there is a problem, it takes weeks to fix it), the seller is just selling one phone from personal use (not a phone store from home), and really spend a little extra and get the guarantee from an actual store/online store, even amazon.

7/15/08: Depp as Dillinger! 

 
Yeah, get over it. I like Johnny Depp. So what. Here is a picture of him as John Dillinger for a new movie called "Public Enemies", directed by Michael Mann (yes, Miami Vice guy). Its also got "The BaleMan"  (as Melvin Purvis), whom I will be watching intensely in a few days (obvious hint about the Dark Knight, which they are advertising way toooo much on TV. Seriously, I've think I've already seen the movie twice by watching all of 3001 of the trailers).  Speaking of the two, Depp was rumored to be in Sin City 2 and 3, as Wallace, the main protaganist of one of the stories. Bale is also rumored (extremely speculated) to play Solid Snake in the movie adaptation of Metal Gear Solid, whose rights are owned by Sony Pictures. Maybe Depp will get to ride off in the sunset in a Scarab Speedboat guns a' blazing?!

7/9/08: New music this week from the past/future.

This week Beck released his eighth studio album, "Modern Guilt" which from what I've heard from the first two singles sounds pretty good. I will admit that I do not own all of his albums, yet, you see sometimes your not ready for an album. If you listen to an album by an artist you normally like but you just don't get it you may have to listen to it again at a later time to appreciate it, or really be that it might sucks, not saying any of Beck's album sucks but it might take a long while before Buy "Sea Change".Typically, well 97% of the time I would want the cd/packaging itself and not just a download and to me cd's are physical, like a book collection, where I can go back and listen to albums that I have not heard in years. I have a little over 400 cd's in my collection (I try to buy at least one a week to listen to on the evening drive home from work and the other time we listen to only one station that plays talkradio in the morning and classic alternative during the weekend and late night, sorry no Nickelback here). I buy most of my cd's on Amazon.com, CD Baby or my local used cd shop Cd warehouse because, well, because its the cheapest way to find used cd's, some cd's are plan out-of-print or not sold in most stores and I always like to get the first edition of a cd, sometimes lyric books are changed, or pictures, so I like to get the original. You probably already know this but Amazon also has "recommendations" for it's buyers who purchase similar items or put them in their wish list and CD Baby carries independent artist and gives you the feature to find some by looking for similar big name artist and by using these methods I have found amazing "gems".  Any ways here are some artist that I gave a chance on and that you might want check out or don't I don't care. Do whatever you want.

Just want to say Happy Fourth of July celebrating Americas Independence. Sure there's no Transformers movie this 4th weekend (we're stuck with Hancock), but it's still time to celebrate, God Bless America. Hope you don't get arrested (fireworks) and still have all your fingers after this weekend so you can look us up on Tuesday.

Recently (last week) I saw an article on Gizmodo that had an article from Slashfilm, who had pictures from New-Akiba about the Tokyo Toy Show, and wow "where do (they) get these wonderful toys"? We're talking about toys with real cloth clothing, super detailed faces and socks.Ha. Be sure to check out the more non-hentai/Ultraman stuff like Leon S. Kennedy, Briareos Hecatonchires, and Batman (TDK) which by-the-way; in The Dark Knight will Batman start out with one Batsuit, but towards the end update to a more high tech awesomer batsuit to defeat overpowering villian? Maybe this is a picture of that awesome suit, hopefully it won't be like the sonar batsuit (bat riddle included).
